Class Overviews

Children's Discovery Playhouse offers several classes for preschool, toddlers and school-aged children.

Toddler Time

Toddler Time classes are offered for toddlers and their caregivers to provide interactive learning experiences as well as opportunities to socialize with other toddlers. Children begin with a structured activity such as music, art, or game.  Then they enjoy freestyle play in the  Playhouse.  Ages 18 mo - 4 years


Children's Music Classes

Children's Discovery Playhouse offers introductory music classes for various age groups.  These classes introduce children to rhythm, various notes, music terms, and simple percussion instruments.  Older children can also learn to play the recorder.   


Native Americans

Students learn about various tribes and how they used available resources  to make their clothes houses, and tools to survive.  This class will use art, movies, books, music and artifact replicas to discover what life as a Native American might be like in different regions of the United States.

Colonial America

This class will transport students back in time as they experience what life during the Colonial Era was like.  Students will discover the foods, trades, clothes, toys and education through books, movies, games, art, and lots of artifact replicas.

Fun with Literature

Get your child excited about reading and language arts by using amazing books and adding super fun activities!  This class will explore a variety of genres and include fun projects in poetry,  idioms, wordless books, reader's theater, parts of speech, author and illustrator studies.



Students will be introduced to a variety of puppets and then make their own puppets from paper mache.  They will also write their own script and finish with a puppet show.
